The Japanese car market in Egypt achieved sales of about EGP 5.67bn during the first half (H1)of 2015.
This is out of the EGP 16.5bn total automotive market sales in Egypt. As such, Japanese cars acquired 34.3% of the market value.
Japanese cars sold 27,700 cars from total market sales of 95,000 cars, acquiring 39.1% of the number of sold cars in the Egyptian passenger car market.
The New Nissan Sunny came on top of the list of the most sold Japanese cars in Egypt at EGP 683m during the period between January and July 2015. The New Nissan Sunny sold 5,741 cars, and it is considered the most popular Japanese car in Egypt.
The New Nissan Sunny acquired 6% of the passenger car market in Egypt, representing 20.7% of the market share of the number of Japanese cars sold in the Egyptian market.
The Mitsubishi Lancer, on the other hand, achieved sales of EGP 606m during the same period, coming in second place with 4,122 sold cars. Toyota Corolla came in third place with 3,997 sold cars at EGP 763m.
