Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry will fly from New Delhi to Vienna to participate in international talks on Syria, Friday.
The United States, Russia, Turkey and Saudi Arabia decided in their four-way talks earlier this month to broaden participation in the talks by inviting more regional countries, such as Egypt, Iran, Iraq and Lebanon.
These talks are considered a continuation of the four-way talks held in Vienna last Friday, which did not reach a conclusion.
The talks will discuss specific ideas about the activation of the political process in Syria, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abo Zeid.
Iran will participate in the talks for the first time since the civil war started in Syria.
Russia and Iran have stressed that current Syrian president Bashar Al-Assad must be a part of any transitional process until elections can be organised, while the US said it will only accept Al-Assad for a short temporary period.
