Units from the Egyptian navy arrived in the UAE on Monday to take part in the joint Egyptian-Emirati exercise Khalifa 2, dubbed “one of the largest and strongest exercises in the Gulf region”.
The exercise includes activities to unify combat concepts, exchanging training experiences between the two navies and training on managing join naval combat operations, according to a statement from the army.
The statement added that the training comes within the joint training strategy between the two countries.
Units from both navies, in addition to the US navy, took part in a joint training exercise in the Egyptian territorial waters of the Red Sea in March.
