CAIRO: Emad Meteb struck deep in stoppage time to give 10-man Ahly a stunning 2-1 win over ENPPI in the Egyptian league on Tuesday.
Meteb chested down Flavio Amado s header in the area before sidestepping his marker and firing a brilliant close-range volley past stranded ENPPI keeper Mostafa Kamal.
The win extended Ahly s lead at the top of the Egyptian league table to 35 points from 13 games, four ahead of second Ismaili who have 31 points from 14 matches.
Ahly took the lead through Flavio s deft header in the 19th minute.ENPPI pushed for the equalizer and got what they wanted in the 74th minute.
Ahly defender Islam Al-Shater was shown the red card for a second bookable offense after bringing down an ENPPI player just outside Ahly s area.
ENPPI skipper Samir Sabri stepped up to take the resulting kick that eluded Ahly keeper Amir Abdul-Hamid after being deflected by Flavio into the net.
Ahly s next match will be against arch-rivals Zamalek on Saturday.
