Egypt s friendly against Ivory Coast, which was scheduled for Aug. 21, has been postponed for one day due to Al Ahly s continental commitment, national team assistant coach Shawki Gharib said on Saturday.

Al Ahly will face Sudanese giants Hilal away from home on Aug. 19 in the CAF Champions League, just two days before the international friendly, which was due to be held in Paris.

The decision came after Egyptian Football Association president Samir Zaher held a meeting with vice-president Ahmed Shobeir to discus the matter.

The match was postponed for one day in order to give Al Ahly players time to link up with their Egypt teammates, Gharib told FilGoal.com.

The game will not be played in Paris as previously agreed because France will face Slovakia on the same day.

Egypt, which is on top of Group B in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers, is to host its game with Burundi on either Sept. 7, 8 or 9 before visiting Botswana one month later.
