CAIRO: Egypt collected 10 medals, including four gold, in the first day of the Pan Arab Games, which started on Monday.
Judo duo Hisham Musbah and Samah Ramadan won two gold medals. Ahmed Salah also won gold in the 100 meter Butterfly Swimming competition.
The host nation dominated the fencing competition, as Ahmed Nabil won gold, Ahmed Al-Kafrawi won silver, while Ayman Fayez collected the bronze medal.
However, Tunisia finished the first day on top with six gold medals, Egypt are second, while Algeria came third with three gold medals on the first day.
