CAIRO: Al Ahly assistant coach Hossam Al-Badri refuted claims that Flavio Amado and Sebastiao Gilberto will be subjected to disciplinary action after returning late from international duty.

The Angola duo arrived late after their national team s quarter-finals elimination from the African Cup of Nations by Egypt two weeks ago.

However, Al-Badri said that the players excuses were accepted by Portuguese manager Manuel Jose.

Flavio and Gilberto met with the coach, and he understood their reasons of being late, there is no problem, he told Al Ahly s official site on Sunday.

Al Ahly s site stated that the Angolan duo are currently training under the supervision of fitness coach Fidalgo, in order to have them fit for Wednesday s league game with Al Masri.

However, striker Osama Hosni is doubtful for the game as he is still nursing a hamstring strain.

Meanwhile, Al-Badri added that the club is in search of a new interpreter to Jose after Sayed Al-Gibali resigned for “personal reasons.

Al-Gibali is the second translator to leave the club in less than five months, following the departure of Ahmed Abdou in September.
