CAIRO: Ittihad forward Mohamed Nagi Gedo stressed that he would only move away from the Alexandria outfit to ply his trade in Europe.

Gedo drew the attention of many clubs inside and outside Egypt after producing some impressive displays in this year s Nations Cup.

Among other suitors, Qatari side Al-Sadd are seeking to land the Damanhur-born midfielder on loan for two months starting next month.

But Gedo is determined to carry on his career on the Old Continent.

My priority is to join a European club, he told FilGoal.com. Neither gulf nor Egyptian teams would entice me.

Olympique Lyon have already approached the Egypt revelation, and Ittihad has put a ?2 million price tag on his head.

The French outfit should reply to Ittihad soon regarding their financial demands.

We are still waiting for the French club to respond, and they are expected to send us a fax within the next few days, Gedo added.

Gedo, the Nations Cup s top scorer, has been embroiled in controversy since signing a deal to join Zamalek next season before extending his contract with Ittihad.

The White Knights are likely to be involved in a dispute with the Egyptian FA, who said that Gedo should remain an Ittihad player.

The 25-year-old, who admitted signing for Zamalek but said he changed his mind later, pleaded with Zamalek not to take a legal action against him.
