Cairo: Zamalek striker Amr Zaki missed his side s training on Monday, two days ahead of the Mahalla game in the Egyptian League.
Ibrahim Saied, Mostafa Gaafar, Magdi Atwa and Tamer Abdul-Wahab also didn t take part in the practice.
Ahmed Abdullah, Zamalek s team director said Zaki and Saied met with coach Mahmoud Saad before the session and they were permitted to leave.
He also said that Abdul-Wahab was ill but refused to comment on the absence of Gaafar and Atwa.
Gaafar and Saied, as well as Wael Al-Qabani and Tarek Al-Sayed, are already out of Mahalla s game on Wednesday as they serve an automatic one-match suspension for collecting two yellow cards.
Midfielders Mohamed Aboul-Ella and Ahmed Abdul-Raouf are also doubtful for the game due to injuries, according to chief of medical staff Mostafa Al-Monairi.
Abdul-Raouf was removed by stretcher off the pitch with a leg injury while Aboul-Ella limped out after collecting a heel knock during the 2-1 defeat in the Cairo derby against Ahly on Saturday.
