CAIRO: Feyenoord goalkeeper Sherif Ekrami hopes to get more involved in first team matches, following his season debut against Willem II on Sunday.
The 25-year-old was given the opportunity to deputize for injured number one Henk Timmer, but conceded three first-half goals in the 3-1 defeat.
I think I will be in better shape if I played more games. I hope to get a chance in the remaining games of the season, he told FilGoal.com.
I was unlucky in the first goal because I was fouled, but the referee allowed the goal.
I had a much better second-half though; I think I made a couple of good saves.
Should Timmer remain injured, Ekrami could be facing competition from Erwin Mulder ahead of next week s game with Roda JC.
Feyenoord are sixth in the Eredivisie standings with 57 points, as they push for a Champions League spot.
