PORT SAIED: Masri extended their unbeaten streak under coach Hossam Hassan to eight matches after beating Petrojet 2-1 in the Egyptian League on Sunday.
Ivorian striker Zeka Goory put the visitors ahead after 26 minutes before Ahmed Galal grabbed the equalizer 10 minutes later.
Ghanaian midfielder Akwetey Mensah sealed the victory for the Port Said-based club seven minutes after restart.
Masri virtually guaranteed their top-flight status, thanks to a revival prompted by Hassan s appointment after the sacking of Portuguese manager Juan Alves.
Former Egypt striker Hassan is yet to announce his retirement from professional football. He is registered in Ittihad s squad list for the 2007/2008 season.
The victory put Masri in ninth place of the league table with 32 points, nine clear of the relegation zone with four matches to go.
Petrojet, who were competing for top spots earlier in the campaign, lie fifth on 38 points.
