CAIRO: Zamalek strengthened their midfield after signing Trabzonspor s Ayman Abdul-Aziz on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

The Cairo side announced on Monday that Abdul-Aziz has officially become a Zamalek player.

I m sure that Abdul-Aziz will be a useful addition to our squad, Zamalek chairman Mamdouh Abbas told the club s official website.

The Egyptian Cup winners have been long-term admirers of the 29-year-old but repeatedly failed in their attempts to lure him to Cairo.

Abdul-Aziz will arrive in Cairo on Friday to begin a second spell with Zamalek.

He came through Zamalek s youth ranks and was promoted to the first-team in 1996.

Abdul-Aziz contributed to Zamalek s Egyptian Cup triumph in 1999 before joining Kocaelispor one year later to begin his Turkish adventure.

After further Turkish spells with Malatyaspor, Genclerbirligi and Trabzonspor, he opted to return to Zamalek.

Abdul-Aziz is Zamalek s third signing in the close season following the arrival of Arab Contractors duo Alaa Kamal and Mahmoud Samir.
