ALEXANDRIA: Ittihad Alexandria have released midfielder Mahmoud Abdel Atti Samna only one day after signing Egypt Telecom player Haytham Al-Fazani.
Coach Taha Basri made his decision after Al-Fazani s deal was completed and Samna was deemed a surplus to the team s requirements, Ittihad s player representative told FilGoal.com.
Samna is the fourth player to be released by Ittihad this off-season while midfielder Ahmed Estakoza Hassan was sold to Tersana.
FilGoal.com has learned that the released players: Reda Shehata, Wakil Salama and Youssef Hamdi will file a complaint against Ittihad to the Egyptian Football Association (EFA).
The players believe they have a just cause because the club released them without notification, which contradicts with the EFA laws that state that released players have to be notified by the club 15 days in advance.
