Zamalek beat arch rivals Al-Ahly to landing the Egypt sweeper from Ismaili, and Helmi believes that Saied is a quality signing.

Hani Saied is a vital addition to our defense line, he is a quality player and his arrival came at a perfect timing, the Zamalek second man told the club s official site.

The players were very happy when they learnt that Saied has joined them.

Zamalek won the signature of Egypt sweeper Saied – who was a key figure in Egypt s CAN 2008 triumph – from Ismaili on Saturday,

The Whites have beaten arch rivals Ahly to the signature of the 28-year-old, in a four-year-deal believed to be around LE 13 million.

Ahly have enquired for the services of Saied on Friday, but Ismaili decided to go with the Zamalek option.

The former Bari defender was linked with French Ligue1 side St. Etienne and Russia s Spartak Moscow last season.
