CAIRO: Ahly assistant coach Hossam Al-Badri insisted that despite securing a CAF Champions League semi-finals berth the team will play to win against ASEC Mimosas in the final group game on Sunday.

The Reds are guaranteed top spot in Group A, whilst Cairo rivals Zamalek, Dynamos and ASEC vie for the up-for-grabs second place.

Speculation suggested that Ahly will play to win in favor of Zamalek, who have a tough task in Harare, but Al-Badri is eyeing victory for other reasons.

We talked to the players and stressed that we will play to win, for our team s sake, not in favor of any other team in the group, he told Ahly s official site.

We know our fans were not satisfied after the draw with Zamalek, so we want to put in a better performance this time.

I am sure our players will do their best, even though we should be cautious not to have any suspensions in the next round.

Ahly are in line to meet one of four teams competing in Group B, which includes Enyimba, Cotonsport, TP Mazembe and Hilal of Sudan.
