CAIRO: Zamalek striker Amr Zaki will not take part in the Cairo derby against Ahly in the Egyptian Premier League on Tuesday due to injury.

The robust hitman has not featured for the White Knights since picking up a hamstring problem in Egypt s 1-0 defeat to Algeria in November s World Cup decider.

Zaki was eager to recover on time to participate in the anticipated league game, but it turned out that he needs more time to fully recuperate.

The Zak missed Sunday s training session and continued his rehab under the supervision of physician Amr Al-Matrawi.

On the other hand, duo Hossam Arafat and Sayed Mosaad were both ruled out of the game with respective injuries.

Alaa Ali remains doubtful for the match after going down with flu.

Zamalek, who lost six matches out 11, are now 12th with 11 points, while their arch-rivals Ahly are at the top of the league table with 27.

Zamalek will slip to the table s penultimate place should they lose to Ahly.
