CAIRO: Former Zamalek defender Ashraf Qasem has been named as Mansoura s coach, the struggling club said on Sunday.
Qasem has been appointed following the sudden resignation of Adel Teima, who complained of “the board s intervention in footballing matters .
The 44-year-old will be the fourth coach to manage the promoted club this season.
The past period has been very difficult for Mansoura, Qasem, whose only previous experience as a boss was a short and unfruitful spell at then first-division side Olympic in 2006, told FilGoal.com.
But I accepted this tough challenge. I m determined to lift the team out of their current crisis.
Mansoura began the season with Mohamed Helmi, who steered them to Premier League promotion, at the helm but he resigned for personal reasons.
Mohamed Salah then took over but his spell was also short-lived as he stepped down due to differences with chairman Ibrahim Megahed.
His successor Teima followed in his footsteps few months later, leaving Mansoura to tumble down the Egyptian Premier League table.
They lie second from bottom in the 16-team table with 10 points, eight adrift of the safety zone.
