CAIRO: Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit spoke out Thursday on hopes for overcoming the isolation imposed by the international community on the Palestinians after the formation of the coming government in Palestine, reported the Kuwait News Agency KUNA.

In a press release issued after Aboul Gheit s meeting with Japan s special envoy for the Middle East peace process Tatsu Arima, the Foreign Ministry stated that the Japanese envoy reasserted his country s support for the Palestinian question.

Japan supports an end to the economic difficulties in Palestinian territories due to the current isolation and pushes for the resumption of the Palestinian-Israeli peace talks in order to the long-standing conflict.

Aboul Gheit expressed his hope that Japan would continue its support for the Palestinian economy to help the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) overcome its current difficulties and relieve the suffering of the Palestinian people, the release added.

Aboul Gheit also commended Japan s endeavor to learn how to contribute to the restoration of confidence between the Palestinians and the Israelis.

With regards to the formation of a new Palestinian government, Aboul Gheit stated that Egypt supported the effort to prevent the return to Palestinian infighting and the government that could reflect the desire of the Palestinian people for peace, the release added.
