Real Madrid CF’s Chairperson Florentino Pérez decided the club will splurge up to £500m to sign several new stars in the coming summer transfer window.
Media reports said that Real Madrid seeks to sign three top players from the English Premier League, including Manchester United’s goalkeeper David de Gea, Tottenham Hotspur’s striker Harry Kane, and Chelsea’s midfielder Eden Hazard.
The reports said that Real Madrid will allocate £500m to complete the signing of the three players in the next transfer window.
Real Madrid has not spent as much as it should over the past three years, and it sometimes sold players for more than its total spending. However, it has been a miserable season for Real Madrid so far. The reigning La Liga champions currently stand 19 points behind runaway leaders Barcelona, and were unceremoniously dumped out of the Copa del Rey this week by a 2-1 home defeat to local neighbours CD Leganés. These disappointing results forced Pérez to pose huge offers for the most prominent stars around the world.
