During the UN Conference of the Parties of Biological Diversity – COP14, which is being held in Sharm El-Sheikh from 17 to 29 November, the Indigenous Women’s Biodiversity Network (IWBN) organised a photo gallery to commemorate women’s role in conserving biodiversity in the past 20 years.
The gallery aims to present the relationship and connectivity between culture, nature, and conserving biological diversity. It also displays examples of women’s participation in supporting local communities through sustainable management, cooperating with them for conserving natural resources, and achieving the sustainable development goals.
The gallery included a number of photographs that reflect women’s experiences and their traditional knowledge in conserving biological diversity in a number of countries including Egypt, Russia, China, Sudan, India, and Latin America.
