The Digital Economy and Technology Division at the Cairo Chamber of Commerce has recently launched an initiative with the Ministry of Public Enterprises Sector to help small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) undertake a digital transformation.
Karim Ghoneim, Head of the division and a board member of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce, said the initiative has come at the right time, as it is part of state strategy to support digital transformation.
This comes in light of the special circumstances Egypt is going through due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. It also takes on board the urgent need to develop companies’ tools and prepare them for the digitalisation, mechanisation, and financial inclusion phase.
This, in turn, ensures their readiness to handle electronic payment mechanisms whilst providing this service at the lowest prices for startups and small companies.
Ghoneim added that the division is fully prepared to cooperate with all entities, including the Information and Communications Technology Industry Chamber, to make this important initiative successful.
This works in the belief that cooperation and solidarity are the best ways for companies to achieve their goals and target service levels. He noted that the basis of the initiative is open to the cooperation of all parties.
