Kayan Egypt for Trading and Investment, the exclusive Seat agent in Egypt, has launched the brand’s new Tarraco model on the Egyptian market, with the aim of leading the medium-sized seven-seat SUV category.
The 2021 Seat Tarraco model can safely call itself the first fully German-made, seven-seat SUV to be launched on the domestic market.
It is the third model in the Seat SUV family, following in the footsteps of the Arona and Ateca models. It is also the largest of the brand’s cars, and the only one to provide the full comforts for seating seven passengers on board.
The Tarraco, whose name is derived from the ancient Spanish city of Tarragona, combines a modern dynamic design with exceptional comfort levels. It also boasts a full range of safety features and rich equipment, as well as a distinctive strong performance in its 1.4-litre TSI class engine that generates 150 hp.
The 2021 Seat Tarraco is available in four grades: Standard, Style Plus, Xcellence, and the sportier, higher-end FR.
It has large standard dimensions, coming in at a total length of 4,735 mm and an overall width of 1,839 mm. It has a height of 1,658 mm, making it the largest car in its class available on the Egyptian market.
The new Tarraco front-wheel drive system comes with a powerful 1.4-litre turbocharged TSI engine, which delivers 150 horsepower and a maximum torque of 250 Nm. The engine is mated to a six-speed DSG automatic gearbox which can move from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.4 seconds, registering a top speed of 199 km/h.
Design wise, the new Tarraco has a sporty character, inspired by the new design language of the Seat brand. The model features a wide front grille and full LED headlights and tail lights, the latter of which also come with dynamic signal markers and Dynamic Blinkers.
The tail lights are connected by an LED line Luminous, as a standard feature on all Tarraco cars, in addition to sporty wheels ranging from 17 to 20 inches. The wheels also have chrome accents on numerous exterior and interior spots.
The top FR category is equipped with a sporty rear spoiler and two sporty exhausts, as well as a front ventilation grille and side mirrors in a distinctive gray colour. It also features dark rear tinted windows, which are available as standard equipment for all Tarraco models.
Despite the sporty exterior lines, the interior of the Tarraco model utilises luxurious high-quality components and advanced technologies. The Style and Style Plus categories come with luxurious seats equipped with black alcantara fabric, in addition to a head that can be adjusted in four different directions, and a foldable table behind the front seats.
There is also a SEAT Full Link system for smart phones to connect to the car’s information system. This is compatible with Apple CarPlay systems, as well as Android Auto and MirrorLink, alongside Bluetooth technology to make phone calls wirelessly.
The model features sensors for rain and lights, in addition to the infotainment system screen measuring 8.2 inches touch screen, and a digital instrument panel SEAT Digital Cockpit. There is also a glove box with LED lights and a cooling function, Voice command control system, and other luxurious equipment.
The Xcellence and FR categories come with black leather seats, as well as automatic air conditioning that can be adjusted in three different areas for the first and second row passengers. This is in addition to a 9.2-inch touch screen for the infotainment system, and a wireless charging system for smartphones.
The two categories also boast a high-quality Beats brand audio system that connects to nine speakers, a 400-watt amplifier. Users can enjoy a keyless entry and start system, as well as a movable panoramic sunroof.
Additionally to this, the Xcellence and FR categories have an electric-controlled tailgate for the trunk, with a memory feature to adjust the height and a hand-free foot-opening feature. The FR Series is distinguished by its exclusive sporty metal pedals and FR logos on multiple locations, and more.
The Taraco offers a wide range of advanced safety and technical driving assistance systems, including: six airbags; cruise control; anti-lock system (ABS); emergency brake diffuser (EBD) and brake assist (BA); Electronic Stability Control (ESC); Electronic Differential (XDS); Anti-slip System (DTC); Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS); and Driver Fatigue and Fatigue Recognition System.
This is in addition to ISOFIX Anchors for Child Seats in the rear, a 360° Around View Camera with 3D vision, front and rear parking sensors with Park Assist, and dynamic steering.
