Egypt’s national football team, under the leadership of its coach Hossam El Badry, will face Kenya, on Thursday, in the fifth round of qualifiers for the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) which will be hosted by Cameroon.

The Egyptian national team conducted their last training session in Kenya, on Wednesday, in Kenya, in preparation for the match. The decisive atmosphere and high morale dominate the players and the technical staff of the Pharaohs.

El Badry has been working on improving the team’s tactics by reshuffling players several times, and including more new players.

He has held more than one meeting with star winger Mohamed Salah in the run-up to the team’s training sessions, in preparation for the African qualifiers against Kenya and the Comoros.

El Badry has held talks with Salah on several important matters, giving him special instructions to cautiously perform physical exercises for fear of injury. The training saw cohesion between Mohamed Magdy Qafsha and Salah during the training.

The manager has finally settled on the line-up that will play Kenya in the fifth round of the African qualifiers, which are as follows:

Goalkeeper: Mohamed El Shenawy

Full-backs: Ahmed Hegazy and Yasser Ibrahim

Midfielders: Amr Al-Soulia, Mohamed Elneny, Mohamed Haniy, Ahmed Ayman Mansour, and Mohamed Magdy Qafsha

Forwards: Mohamed Salah, Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet, Mostafa Mohamed.

Egypt has its eyes set on victory, to continue its qualifiers group leadership and secure a spot in the championship.

El Badry has allocated a special physical exercise system for Al Ahly and Zamalek players, during the past few days. He was keen to constantly monitor video tapes of previous matches of the two clubs, to find the strengths and weaknesses of players.

It is noteworthy that the Egyptian national team defeated Togo, both at home and away, in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers, placing the Pharaohs at the top of their group with eight points. They grabbed the lead on goal difference from the Comoros’ national team, while Kenya is in third place with three points, and Togo is in the fourth and last place with one point.
