The 11th edition of the annual Egypt CSR and Sustainability Forum will be held on 8 November in Cairo. This year the forum will be held under the title of “Sustainability from Adoption to Localization… the path to recovery.” It will be held under the auspicesof the Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala El-Said.
The forum aims to support the government’s efforts and provide the opportunity for all stakeholders to achieve effective partnerships that drive development forward to provide a decent life for the Egyptian citizen.
This year’s edition will showcase the national development efforts, that Egypt had witnessed in recent years to achieve inclusive and equitable development.
Hassan Mostafa, chairperson of CSR Egypt, the organizer of the event, stated that the organization of the 11th edition of the forum is an affirmation of the keenness of all concerned parties, especially the government, the business community and civil society, on achieving real and comprehensive sustainable development and define the future.
He added that the forum is an interactive platform for all the aforementioned concerned parties to discuss all issues and topics, creating a clear vision for the settlement of sustainable development goals and green recovery plans.
He also explained that the forum includes a group of prominent experts, speakers and officials, including CEO of The Sovereign Fund of Egypt Ayman Soliman, Deputy Minister of Planning and Economic Development Ahmed Kamaly, Director of the Rowad 2030 Project Ghada Khalil, and Ameer El Telwany CEO Of General Authority of Healthcare.
They will also include, Ahmed Mansour, Secretary-General of the National Postal Authority, Alaa El-Zoheiry, Chairperson of the Insurance Federation of Egypt (IFE), Moataz Abdel Rahman, General Manager of Coca-Cola Egypt, Libya and Sudan, Benoit Julia, General Manager of L’Oreal Egypt, Walid Labadi, IFC Country Manager in Egypt, Yemen, and Libya, Nermeen Shehab, Head of Marketing and Social Development Sector at the National Bank of Egypt (NBE), and Dalia Abdel Kader, Chief Sustainability Officer at Commercial International Bank ( CIB).
Nevertheless, attendees will include, Emad Hassan, Project Manager at EBRD Green Economy Financing Facility (GEFF), Mohamed Morsy. Country Head – Finance in Motion for Egypt and Yemen, and Schema’s CEO Maali Qasem Khader.
The forum displays the efforts of development partners and civil society for localizing sustainable development goals and achieving integration with the state’s efforts to execute its strategy.
It also sheds light on the importance of international partnerships and multilateral cooperation to support national localization plans. As well as boosting sustainable financing systems and creating developmental opportunities that encourage overseas institutions to change their compass towards investment and offering long-term financing for developmental projects in Egypt.
It aims at highlighting the mechanisms of creating sustainable impact and effective development that is consistent with Egypt’s actual needs and speeds up the recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic.
