The Egyptian Public Prosecution has conducted investigations into the suicide of an employee while on duty at his workplace in New Cairo.
During the investigation, the police reviewed videos recorded by the company’s surveillance cameras which showed the deceased jumping from the building’s third floor. The Public Prosecution also interrogated eyewitnesses and some of the deceased’s families, who confirmed the same story.
In an official statement on Tuesday, the prosecution said it has not yet identified the motives that pushed the employee to kill himself, excluding any criminal suspicious behind the incident after it had viewed and autopsied the corpse.
Several media outlets reported that the employee’s colleagues argued that stressful conditions at the workplace prompted him to do so.
