Egypt’s Minister of Local Development Mahmoud Shaarawy directed to raise the preparedness level of the state in order to deal with a wave of bad weather and rainfall that the country has been experiencing since Friday.

He asserted the need to ensure the readiness of equipment and water suction cars to deal with any flooding and to assist the sewage system in case of any emergency.

Shaarawy also stressed the importance of coordinating between all service and vital sectors in the governorates to expedite dealing with any emergency.

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) said that the country is experiencing cold northern winds coming from southern Europe, leading to chilly mornings and very cold nights.

The EMA indicated that medium and low clouds will multiply in the north of the country, accompanied by rainfall, warning of a drop in temperatures all over the country.

It has also announced that there is a disturbance in maritime traffic on the Mediterranean sea and stability on the Red Sea.
