Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem announced that short documentary films will be played before main film screenings during Eid Al-Fitr as part of the ‘People’s Cinema Project.’
People’s Cinema will present a number of documentaries, knowledge, and awareness films for young people before the main screenings.
‘Al-Tajalli’ — which was produced by graduates of film studies from the Cinema Palace — will be the first four-minute documentary that will be presented in cinemas as part of the project.
The documentary will be screened before Eid film ‘Wahed Tani’ (‘Another Person’) which stars Egyptian comedian Ahmed Helmy.
The documentary revolves around the mountain on which God talked to Prophet Moses and the importance of the global shrine that receives tourists from different parts of the world, as well as the story of the monastery of St. Catherine, which houses a mosque and includes the well of Moses and the tree under which he took shelter.
The project aims to spread knowledge and awareness among youths and will present documentary films before the main films on daily basis in movie theatres affiliated with the culture ministry based on how receptive audiences are to them.
