Egypt — represented by the Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities — will host the Seventh Arab Housing Conference under the title: ‘Towards Smart Sustainable Cities that Achieve Quality of Life.’
The event will be held on the side-lines of the 39th edition of the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Construction, which will run under the patronage of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, according to Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Assem El-Gazzar.
The minister added that the conference will be held from 18 to 20 December at the St. Regis El-Massa Hotel in the New Administrative Capital (NAC).
El-Gazzar added that the conference is set to present common Arab visions to meet current and future urbanisation challenges in the Arab world and contribute to the development of innovative solutions and effective mechanisms. This is in addition to highlighting pioneering experiences and projects in the field of smart and sustainable cities to achieve a higher quality of life.
For her part, Nafisa Hashem — First Undersecretary of the Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities and Head of the Housing and Utilities Sector — explained that the event’s first and second axes are smart and sustainable cities, while the third and fourth axes cover quality of life and regional and global experiences. She added that an exhibition will be organised within the conference’s activities.
Hashem also pointed out that 1,200 participants representatives from 22 countries and 50 relevant parties are set to participate in the conference.
