The Association for Sustainable Quality of Living “Istidama” signed an agreement with Africa Global Startups and African Startup Awards to collaborate on promoting the Africa Grows Green Awards.
The latter is the African region’s premier celebration of all stakeholders’ efforts to combat climate change, including the COMESA member states, a region which is highly susceptible to climate induced risks and is currently under the leadership of Egypt and President Abd El-Fattah Al-Sisi, as the Chair of the COMESA Authority.
The Africa Grows Green Awards are composed of 4 categories ,namely: Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Technology : targeting startups and SMEs, She Goes Green: targeting female led startups and SMEs, Green Finance: targeting banks, VCs ,insurance companies and angel investors, and Climate Research & Education: targeting Academic Institutions and innovation centers.
The criteria upon which the awards are based, includes the ability of candidates to demonstrate impact, innovation and scalability.
Entries are scored by independent local and international experts, including Ramon Lopez – Head of Innovation Ecosystems Veolia Espana, Hanna Subayi Kamuanga – an experienced impact investor in Africa , khaled Ismaeil- Chairman Himangel and Hussein Abaza – Member of the National Committee for Green Projects.
“We are looking forward to the Academy’s in reaching out to research papers and institutions that can qualify for the Awards in the Category of Climate Research & Education in Egypt and in the African Region,” Istidama said in a statement.
Applications opened on the 27th August and closes on 10th of October, 2022.
