Egypt’s Ministry of Health and Population announced Sunday that the outpatient clinics in its hospitals have served 199,929 patients since the beginning of 2022.
“This comes within the framework of the state’s efforts to pay attention to the health and safety of citizens, and the Ministry of Health and Population’s keenness to advance the health system and provide the best medical services to citizens, which included allocating offices to serve citizens and receive complaints in all hospitals of the treatment institution,” the ministry said in a statement on Sunday.
Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, stated that the institution’s hospitals provided emergency services to 54,197 patients in the reception departments, in addition to 29,330 cases were booked in the internal departments, and 7,167 sick cases were booked in the intensive care departments, in addition to the reservation of 708 newborns in nurseries departments.
Abdel Ghaffar added that the hospitals of the treatment institution in the governorates of Cairo and Alexandria performed 19,044 surgical operations, which varied between major and minor operations, critical and skilled operations, as these operations included patients who benefited from health insurance and who were eligible for treatment at the expense of the state and contracts.
He also explained that the institution’s treatment hospitals provide treatment services in all specialities, including blood diseases, tumours, nose and ear, surgery, gynaecology, eyes, bones, urology, internal medicine, and children, in addition to skin and neurological diseases.
For his part, Mohamed Al-Sudani, head of the treatment institution, indicated that the institution’s hospitals conducted 153 open-heart surgeries, as part of the presidential initiative to end waiting lists, 4,204 cardiac catheterizations, 15,515 dialysis sessions, in addition to 18,842 physical therapy sessions, and 445 Telescope process.
Al-Sudani noted that the development of the treatment institution’s hospitals is being completed and their efficiency is being raised, and a recovery bed.
Outpatient clinics have been opened in the specialities of haematology, rheumatism and rehabilitation at Heliopolis Hospital, and the ICSI unit and gynaecological tumours are operating at the Maternity Home Hospital in Alexandria, in addition to the open-heart operations unit for children, and providing it with 4 open-heart care beds, a recovery bed, and an orthodontics and dental implants clinic at Al-Islah Islamic Hospital.
