The Chamber of Food Industries (CFI) of the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI) held its Ordinary General Assembly headed by Ashraf El-Gazairly, where the Chamber’s budgets and final accounts for the year 2022 were approved, the contract with the auditor was renewed, and the most important activities and achievements carried out by the Chamber during the past year were presented.
The Chamber held an open discussion with the attending members of the General Assembly to answer their inquiries and ways to benefit from all the services provided by the Chamber in support of the sector.
Ashraf Al-Gazairly, Chairperson of the Chamber, said that the Chamber provides technical support to food establishments to comply with food safety requirements and accelerate procedures for including establishments in the white list. The Chamber supports 17 development projects in many fields to achieve the goals of sustainable development.
affirmed the keenness of the Board of Directors on communicating with the members across the governorates of Egypt and getting acquainted with all the challenges facing them, with the aim of providing support to them, paying attention to their interests, and preserving the rates of investments and job opportunities.
The President of the Chamber confirmed that the Council will continue to strengthen the strategic partnership with the National Authority for Food Safety.
During the General Assembly meeting, Mahmoud Al-Basiouni, Executive Director of the Chamber, reviewed the most important achievements and projects that the Chamber implemented during 2022, such as digital transformation and mechanization of procedures in the Chamber with the aim of facilitating the members, saving time and effort, and achieving efficiency in the services provided.
A number of initiatives that the Chamber is currently implemented in cooperation with international development organizations, such as the Green Path initiative, which focuses on supporting a number of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to comply with food safety requirements, reconciling the conditions of informal companies and merging them with the formal sector, as well as projects to support enterprises in the areas of leadership, green economy, women’s economic empowerment, digital transformation and innovation.
