Egypt’s Ministry of Health and Population announced Saturday that the increase in the rates of citizens benefiting from the services of the “100 Health Days” initiatives reached 79% of those targeted since its launch on June 25, 2023.
Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, said that the Presidential initiative for maternal and fetal health topped the highest rate of increase by 890%, with the average daily frequency rising from 341 visits to 3,044 visits.
He added that the president’s initiative for early detection of chronic diseases and kidney disease achieved an increase of 259%, bringing the rate of citizens benefiting from its services to 37,232 daily visits instead of 14,363 visits.
Abdel Ghaffar said that the rate of increase in the provision of services provided by the president’s initiative to examine cancerous tumours (prostate-colon-lung-cervix) amounted to 64%, as the average number of examination forms that citizens filled out increased from 8,296 forms per day to 13,602 forms.
He further noted that the average services provided within the president’s initiative to examine those about to get married increased from 3,924 daily services to 4,779 services, an increase of 22%.
Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar stressed the need to intensify work and revitalize the results of the “100 Health Days” campaign, based on the directives of the political leadership, to reach the largest number of citizens in all governorates nationwide.
