CAIRO: Ahly were relieved to know that striker Emad Meteb doesn’t need surgery for his back injury after undergoing scans in Germany.
The Egypt striker, who missed the Champions League defeat at Ittihad Tripoli, was complaining of back pain after the 3-3 draw with Zamalek ten days ago.
"We learnt through doctor Ihab Ali that Meteb only needs 10 days to recover," director Hadi Khashaba told the club’s official site.
"The news came as a relief to the management because we feared that Emad needed surgery.
"He could well be fit for the return game against Ittihad."
Ahly are expecting a tough battle in Cairo on May 9th as they aim to overturn their 2-0 trailing to the Libyan champions.
