Egypt’s platform for emerging talents, Coterique, is set to curate its first pop up at Dubai Fashion Forward’s 10th season; taking place from the 26th until the 28th of October. The SS18 event is expected to witness the new collections of various regional and international designers as well as a handful of educational talks and panels.
Coterique is the brainchild of one young woman, Dana Khater, who aims to gather the best emerging talents under one cyber roof. Her website brings a diversity of unique brands despite geographical and creative differences.
With the goal of international reach on their agenda, the local e-commerce website is set to join hands with Dubai’s Fashion Forward and occupy a pop up space at the “garden”. Together the two entities aim to provide a space for nine regional labels to meet a new fresh audience.
The bi-annual event is widely known for aiding many labels reach international stardom. Meanwhile, its garden showcase is celebrated for bringing worthy talents and connecting them with the suitable media entities and buyers.
For the upcoming season, Coterique has selected a number of their most suitable talents. The chosen brands do not only stand for innovation of design and quality, they also add a playful flair to the colourful season.
The participating brands will include Egyptian deconstruction guru Dina Shaker, tassels fanatic Papaya, master of artsy-flats Ramla and the bigger than life Les Miniatures.
Furthermore, King’s Mother will bring their modern take on blazers to the mix; while, the Blonde Label will showcase their one-of-a kind flattering swimwear. On the other hand, regional labels such as Free Being and Nessi Bird will display their SS18 resort wear and swimwear, respectively. Finally, French eye wear, Le Specs, will provide the ultimate touch to this beach-bond formula.
