A report published on the official Czech Radio Station website has placed Egypt as one of the top destinations for tourists from the Czech Republic during the summer.
This comes despite the ongoing challenges of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, with travel agencies in the country receiving thousands of reservations so far for warmer tourist destinations, including Egypt.
The report also indicated that Egypt ranks first among Czech tourists’ favourite destinations, due to its warm climate, sunny beaches, picturesque nature, and ancient civilisation.
Moreover, the CNN Travel placed Egypt among the top 21 safe tourist destinations to travel to in 2021.
The country was also ranked first in the world among the most sought-after tourist destinations during the current period, according to an opinion survey conducted by Travel INSIDE, a Swiss travel magazine specialising in tourism.
Egyptian tourism received an extra boost, having been chosen by the UK’s The Telegraph newspaper as the best tourist destination to travel to following the lifting of the UK’s closure policy.
The renowned travel website, Trip Advisor, chose Egypt’s second city and biggest port, Alexandria, as one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world for the year 2021. They also chose the cities of Cairo and Hurghada as among the best tourist destinations for 2020.
