Held at the Orman Botanical Garden in Giza, the third edition of Egypt Honey Festival concluded on Sunday its 5-day activities, under the slogan “Bee Honey: Egypt’s Liquid Gold”.
The annual event witnessed a great turnout, especially families and children. The Festival organized workshops about the types and derivatives of bee honey and beekeeping. It also held prize draws sponsored by some exhibitors. More than 100 bee honey exhibitors and producers participated in the event.
According to the Festival, Egypt produces more than 15,000 tonnes of honey annually, in addition to more than 1.5 million packages of bees, making it one of the world’s leading countries in this field and makes this industry an important source of national income.
