CAIRO: Al Ahly defender Rami Adel has been ruled out for 10 days with a thigh injury sustained during the game against Zamalek last Friday.

Adel suffers from a bruised thigh and he’ll have to rest for 10 days, Ahly’s doctor Ehab Ali was quoted saying on the club’s website.

The Red Devils suffer a defense crisis as Ahmed Al-Sayed needs time to get back into form and Shady Mohamed is still struggling with a hamstring injury.

Meanwhile, manager Manuel Jose will have a short vacation in Portugal as Eritrean side Al-Tahir pulled out of this weekend’s tie in the CAF Champions League, allowing Ahly to go through to the third round.

The local competition will be halted until the end of the month as Egypt have a friendly game against Argentina on March 26.

The Red Devils will warm up against Aluminium on March 25 before facing Tersana, five days later, in the Egyptian League.
