Tourism ministry launches programme for visits to Taba, Nuweiba next June

The Ministry of Tourism has launched a tourist programme to Taba and Nuweiba from 26 April until the end of June 2015, said Minister of Tourism Khaled Rami on Tuesday.

Rami said his ministry supports the programme contributing EGP 500 per person. He added the programme has two means of transportation as Karnak-Egypt Air and Misr Travel have been hired.

The cost per person of a four-night programme in case of choosing to travel by air is EGP 1,400, while the cost in case of choosing to travel by bus is EGP 855 per person.

According to Rami, the cost of the programme per person for five nights is EGP 1,705 in case of travel by air, and EGP 1,135 in case of travel by bus.

The programme is motivating for the region (Sinai), according to Sami Soliman, Chairman of the regional Investors Association. He added that the rates of the region’s hotel occupancies are currently low.

The region has approximately 46 hotels according to the Tourism Development Agency (TDA).

According to Minister of Tourism, Egypt aims to increase tourist numbers to 20 million tourist by the end of 2020.
