The United Bank of Egypt plans to grant 100 awards to its clients who hold the MasterCard “Rakhaa”, considered to be the first credit card which meets Shari’a provisions in Egypt.
According to the bank’s Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mohamed Ashmawy, the award will be given to those who use the card for purchases that exceed EGP 1,000, within the period between 15 June and 31 July 2015.
Ashmawy said that the bank’s clients can obtain the card from any of the 50 bank branches, located among all the Egypt’s governorates. They could then use it within the promotional campaign period, so that they can enter the 100 awards’ draw. The draw’s procedure will be under the supervision of the Ministry of Social Solidarity.
Ashmawy concluded that the MasterCard “Rakhaa”, issued by the bank, is widely in demand, especially by the bank’s clients and the public in general, as it is the first credit card issued in accordance with Shari’a and laws in Egypt.
