Minister of Finance Hany Khadry Dimian issued a ministerial decision to form a committee in charge of combat corruption.
According to Dimian, the formation of the committee is based on the framework of the state’s financial and economic reform process to increase the state’s administrative efficiency. It would also firmly prevent all forms of financial and administrative corruption.
The committee will be tasked with putting in the necessary precautions to prevent financial and administrative corruption and to coordinate and exchange relevant information with the National Coordinating Committee to Prevent Corruption.
The committee will further provide necessary recommendations to the Minister of Finance as to the mechanism that should be implimented to be compatible with the national strategy to prevent corruption.
The commission has a right to confer with government institutions to request or clarify any data.
The committee will be led by the assistant finance minister for administrative development ; the heads of the Ministry of Finance’s subsidies and government services authority sectors; the office of settlement of sequestered properties; and the chairman of the Central Department of Legal Affairs and Investigations in the Ministry of Finance.
