A fire broke out inside a chemistry lab at the Faculty of Science at Cairo University on Sunday, in addition to another fire that damaged a juice factory in 6th of October City’s industrial zone.

Meanwhile, another fire began in an office inside the Interior Ministry headquarters, state-run newspaper Ahram reported. It was an electric fire, due to a problem with one of the air conditioning units.

No casualties were reported in any of the incidents.

The two fires are part of a series of other blazes that have been reported over the past week in multiple locations across Egypt. The cause of the incidents remains unclear.

Last Sunday, a major fire broke out in a building near Al-Attaba’s popular market in central Cairo, which quickly spread to other buildings and the nearby marketplace. Three people were killed and at least 90 were injured.

On Saturday, two people were taken to the hospital, following a fire in a Damietta village, where they received treatment for smoke inhalation, according to the Ministry of Health.

Another fire was reported at a school in Sharqeya. A room inside of the school containing student exam papers caught fire, but no injuries were reported.

Moreover, at least five were injured when a fire broke out at the Cairo Governorate headquarters in Abdeen on Thursday morning, said the Health Ministry.
