CAIRO: The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) have rejected Amr Zaki s request to terminate his contract with Zamalek, as Hani Saied is set to be investigated by the Egyptian football governing body.

The pronouncements came in a Tuesday board meeting, which was intended for discussing the transfer saga of the Egypt duo with their respective clubs.

EFA vice-chairman Ahmed Shobeir declared that the board would meet on Tuesday, before announcing the decisions within the next few days.

We will make decisive pronouncements within the next few days on the transfer problems of Saied, Abd-Rabou and Zaki, said Shobeir.

The situation has become messy, and the EFA must intervene.

Wigan-bound Zaki wanted to annul his contract with Zamalek after chairman Mamdouh Abbas vowed to block his move to the Premiership.

The 25-year-old striker was hopeful that the EFA could help him get released as his plea was based upon the club s failure to pay him his basic salary.

However, Zaki is expected to raise the case to FIFA after his attempt with the EFA failed.

On the other hand, the EFA will probe Egypt sweeper Saied s recent act, which saw him reverting on his move to Zamalek despite the latter s announcement that he signed a contract.

The 28-year-old will be investigated on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the EFA will delay their decision in Hosni Abd-Rabou s case, which involves Ahly, Ismaili and French side Strasbourg.
