CAIRO: Zamalek striker Amr Zaki has been put on the transfer list after failing to justify his continuous absence from training, the club said on Wednesday.

We are open to offers for Zaki. Any worthy offer will be accepted, Zamalek board member and club icon Hazem Emam told FilGoal.com.

The club can no longer bear such actions. Missing training for several days without giving any explanations is an inexplicable action from a professional player like Zaki.

The combative frontman, nicknamed the Bulldozer, did not show up for training for five consecutive days.

Zamalek coach Hossam Hassan said he couldn t reach the 26-year-old, who switched off his mobile phone.

The player should have informed the technical staff of his intent to skip training. We don t want any problems in the team, Emam added.

Zaki revealed recently that he was eager to experience Premiership football again, having spent the last season on loan at Wigan Athletic.

The Egyptian international, who couldn t earn a permanent stay with the Latics due to disciplinary problems, also said he was looking to play well with Zamalek to achieve that aim but it seems that his spell with the Cairo club has come to an end.

Zaki, who returned to Zamalek in the close season, failed to score any goal with the White Knights this season.

He is currently nursing a hamstring injury that ruled him out of this month s African Cup of Nations.
