CAIRO: Thirteen farm workers including seven women were killed and nine others wounded in a road accident in a town near Cairo on Wednesday, police said. The vehicle crashed when its rear tire blew out in the town of Sadat, 80km north of Cairo, a police source said. In January, 14 tourists from Hong Kong were killed and 30 others were injured when their speeding bus spun off the road along Egypt s Red Sea coast. Some 6,000 people die in road accidents each year in Egypt and a report by the country s transport ministry has said they were the second highest cause of death in the country. Roads in some parts of Egypt are notoriously bad. AFP
