The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology takes part in the 37th session of the GITEX 2017 exhibition, which launches during the period from 8 to 12 October in the World Trade Centre in Dubai. A number of experts and representatives of government agencies, as well as companies working in the field of communications and information technology, are taking part in the exhibition.

On the sidelines of the exhibition, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Yasser El Kady is holding a number of bilateral meetings with government officials and major leaders of global communications and information technology companies in order to showcase the investment opportunities available in the field and to look into cooperation in the fields of research, development, software, electronics, and technological zones.

Throughout the week, the GITEX Dubai exhibition will showcase the latest trends, products, and innovations across the world. It also brings together emerging companies in the field of technology, allowing them to showcase their innovations and ambitions to international investors.

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology takes part in the exhibition through the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) with the sponsorship and support of 26 Egyptian companies in two pavilions in the exhibitions, where one of them is named El Sheikh Saeed and includes 20 government companies, while the other includes six emerging companies.

It is worth mentioning that GITEX was launched in 1981. It is considered the trade gateway for communications and information technology in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, as well as South Asia. It continuously identifies the most important international trends for information technology.

These trends are hosted either as new segments or programmes in the exhibition. It is the most prominent exhibition in the Middle East, and this year it is attracting over 147,000 specialists in communications and information technology from more than 97 countries on an area of 92,903 sqm, bringing together 4,473 exhibitors in Dubai’s World Trade Centre.

GITEX is considered one of the three most important exhibitions in the world in the field of communications and information technology.
