CAIRO: The Egyptian FA competition committee refused Ismaili s request to postpone their league game with Ghazl Mahalla in the Egyptian Premier League.

The match is scheduled for Thursday but the Dervishes wanted to put it off in order to have some rest after their trip to Tamponnaise of Reunion Island in the CAF Champions League.

However, the competition committee turned them down so as Mahalla s schedule stays the same.

Mahalla shouldn t cope with a sudden schedule change for no reason, competition committee head Amer Barakat told FilGoal.com. They shouldn t bear the consequences of Ismaili s African commitments.

The rules stipulate that each team are responsible for their African commitments and must stick to the competition committee s fixtures list.

Ismaili slumped to a 1-0 defeat at Reunion Island on Saturday but clung on to reach the Champions League round of 16 with a 3-2 aggregate victory.
