The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, represented by the Egyptian Tourism Authority, has launched a promotional campaign introducing the rituals and atmosphere of Ramadan in Egypt.
Entitled “Enjoy the atmosphere of Ramadan from your home”, the campaign brings Ramadan to Egypt’s various tourist destinations, and can be viewed via the ministry and authority’s social media sites.
Ahmed Youssef, Head of the Egyptian Tourism Authority, said the campaign aims to introduce regional and international audiences to the unique atmosphere of the holy month in Egypt.
The campaign will also shed light on how Ramadan is celebrated across the country, whilst inviting the world to enjoy these places when tourism resumes following the coronavirus pandemic.
Youssef said that, starting from next Saturday, there will be videos featuring traditional Egyptian food that will be published weekly. He also said that the campaign will consider diversity about the appearances, customs, and traditions of Ramadan in Egypt.
The campaign will provide information presented in a variety of ways on the benefits of fasting, and the various Islamic archaeological shrines across the country.
It will take on the form of a mystery, which gives greater interactivity with the public, whilst also using short stories on the history of Egypt’s varied Ramadan practices.
