CIB Foundation donates EGP 40m to Ahl Masr Hospital for burns

The CIB Foundation has signed a cooperation agreement with Ahl Masr Foundation in which the former will donate EGP 40m to the Ahl Masr Hospital for burns.

The donation will be used to pay for necessary equipment as part of ongoing preparations for the hospital’s opening. The CIB logo will be placed on the honorary board as a partner and sponsor of the hospital.

“Driven by the foundation’s pivotal role in supporting social responsibility in general and contributing to the advancement of the health system in particular, the CIB Foundation signed a cooperation agreement with the Ahl Masr Foundation to support Ahl Masr Hospital. The CIB Foundation will support the hospital by providing medical supplies and equipment to outfit 8 intensive care rooms for children, 12 intermediate care rooms for children, and 4 boarding rooms for children, in addition to nursing stations for these departments. This hospital is the first of its kind in Egypt, the Middle East, and Africa,” said Sherif El-Saeed, Director of the CIB Foundation.

“Through this agreement, the CIB Foundation will be providing the hospital with the latest medical equipment that would enable the hospital to treat patients and alleviate their pain. The signing of this agreement reflects the Bank’s interest and pivotal role in supporting the social responsibility sector in all fields, especially the health field. The CIB Foundation plays a prominent role in providing all forms of support for the advancement of this vital sector, with its various disciplines, and the development of the medical system,” added Al-Saeed.

The signing ceremony was attended by members of the CIB Foundation, namely Nadia Hosni, Secretary General of the CIB Foundation’s Board of Trustees; Dina Ahmed Suleiman, Senior Program Planner; Lujain Al-Khalidi, Senior Program Planner; and Irene Safwat, Program Planner.

The following attended from the Ahl Masr Foundation: Adel Ahmed, CEO of Ahl Masr Hospital; Ahmed Turki, Head of the Operational Sector of Ahl Masr Hospital; Sherif Hamdi, Head of the Business Development Sector; Emad Fouad, Head of the Supply Sector; and Eman Fathy, Head of Resource Development; and Ahmed Magdy, Director of Resource Development.

Heba Elsewedy, Chairperson of the Ahl Masr Foundation’s Board of Trustees, commented: “The new agreement is an extension of years of continuous cooperation between the CIB Foundation with the Ahl Masr Foundation to complete construction of the Ahl Masr Hospital. We’re proud of the CIB Foundation. The Foundation is always keen on donating and contributing to the treatment of burn victims by allocating funds to help comprehensively equip the hospital.”

“The upcoming period will witness further cooperation between the Ahl Masr Foundation and the CIB Foundation,” added Elsewedy.

The cooperation agreement reflects banking institutions’ endeavour to implement Egypt’s Vision 2030, which includes supporting non-profit institutions such as the Ahl Masr Foundation. The Foundation aims to improve the lives of citizens through its pivotal role in establishing the Ahl Masr Hospital and its work in caring for and supporting burn patients at every stage. The Ahl Masr Foundation is also appreciative of the continuous support it receives from all institutions in different sectors, allowing the Foundation to carry out its role in preparing the hospital to receive and treat cases free of charge.
