Abdel Ghaffar discusses medical tourism with representatives of LGA Group

Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, stressed the Egyptian state’s great interest in activating medical tourism and enhancing the provision of health services that are in line with the highest international quality standards in implementing the directives of the political leadership.

 

The minister discussed the proposal for an electronic platform for medical tourism in detail during a meeting with representatives of the “LGA Group” company at the ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.

 

Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the meeting witnessed a comprehensive presentation on the design of the electronic platform for medical tourism and explained the method of registering on it and the services it provides to tourists and non-Egyptians seeking treatment or hospitalization, in addition to how to face the challenges related to obtaining medical visas.

 

“Abdel Ghaffar” added that the minister listened to the strategic work plan for the platform, which includes identifying the target groups and remote health care, with an emphasis on comprehensive coverage of health services and facilitating access to them. The importance of supporting information technology to ensure the protection of patient data was also addressed, indicating his directives to present the proposal to the technical secretariat of the Supreme Committee for Medical Tourism.

 

The minister also stressed the cooperation of all relevant authorities in the country to facilitate the procedures related to activating medical tourism, noting that the electronic platform represents an essential step towards developing and achieving progress in this vital field.

 

The meeting was attended by Asmaa Badran, Head of the Technical Secretariat of the Supreme Committee for Medical Tourism, and Heba Abdel Moneim, Member of the Technical Secretariat of the Supreme Committee for Medical Tourism, in addition to representatives of the “LGA Group” company, Ahmed Mounir, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Group; Mohamed Abdel Rahim, Executive Director of the Group; Sami Qandil, Director of Information Technology Solutions at the Group; and Monica Nadi Fahim, Director of Quality Assurance at the Group.
