Egypt has strongly condemned Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, which have resulted in the deaths of over 300 Palestinians, the majority of whom are women and children.
In a Tuesday statement, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry expressed its “utmost condemnation” of the strikes, which targeted Gaza at dawn on Tuesday, March 18, 2025.
Egypt views the Israeli actions as a “blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement and a dangerous escalation that threatens the stability of the region with severe consequences.”
The Egyptian government reiterated its “complete rejection of all Israeli attacks intended to reignite tensions and undermine efforts to de-escalate the situation and restore stability.”
In response to the escalating violence, Egypt is urging the international community to “intervene immediately to halt the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip, preventing the region from descending into a renewed cycle of violence and retaliation.”
Furthermore, Egypt is calling on “all parties to exercise restraint and allow mediators to continue their efforts to achieve a lasting ceasefire.” The government emphasised the urgent need for de-escalation to prevent further loss of life and regional instability.
